Research of the Odanah Star, Ashland Daily Press and Shell Watchman newspapers found no articles that would glean more information about the Diocese of Superior, Bayfield, Wisconsin Bad River Indian Reservation Orphanage.  Marquette University may have more information in their archives. On March 13, 1914 there was a brief mention that work was to start May 1st on the new orphanage and subsequently a brief article about no cases of small pox were reported from the orphanage.  Also found no mentions of August and Sophie's marriage or articles about August's place of employment the Washburn Barksdale Powder Plant.
